Why not post a photo of an FE or FC, preferably side on with a simple background (plain wall) and see what people can do to it? Assign a non-partial judge and a closing date, then go for it!

Guys,

I have already started on an FE FC Colouring Book (good for the big and little kids). You will be able to print out and colour in, or use your favourite paint tool (photoshop/paintbrush etc) to add your own style.

I'll try to have it finished in the next couple of days and will post a link.

Cheers,

Craig.

Yeah, sounds like a great idea.  I can see the space I've allocated on our server for attachments filling up in real quick time!

CraigA, line-art is OK for colouring in, but I think you need a real photo for a PhotoShop comp.  As stinky suggested, nothing with an unnecessarily difficult background to work with.

Stinky, you'd have good contacts; do you have any suggestions on someone impartial we could get to judge this?

And generally:
Would people want or expect a prize of some sort?  Or would the fame/notoriety be enough?  Grin

Please comment.

I think the fame & noteriety (along with a certificate)  would suffice to swell ones head sufficiently.

I know just the person to judge, he has just finished a 4 1/2 year stint at the helm of SMASA (http://www.smasa.com.au) and is a '50s/Rock and Roll junkie who can appreciate a good custom or two.

He won't be back at work until the 2nd of September though and is PC Challenged at home.

I guess this would also disqualify me from entering, oh well. Here's a little something I knocked up from and old nationals banner.

OK you pixel artists, how about transposing an FB windscreen to an FE/FC (ala the 55 Chevy).  Some may say why bother, but why not?  Have often wondered what they would have been like if they had copied their Yank cousins more closely.  Cheers!   Grin .    Mike.

You like that one Harko?

What do you think CraigA, shall I post that "project" that you created for me a month or two back?

Maybe we should've tried it with a chop top too!

Alex

P.S. Richard, I think you may need to put in a note about copyrights on artwork and designs. If anyone wants to use these images, I suggest you contact the artist for permission.

Craig.
I think your kids might enjoy putting some colour to this van instead.
If you need contributions for your book, let me know. Perhaps we could sell em as a fundraiser for the Qld Nats?

Well that's torn it!
Here's the picture CraigA had doen for me a while back.

It is intended as a long term "period custom", there is a rusty FC Wagon in the back paddock and a set of 13x6 and 14x7 Tasmans sitting in the tool shed. I just need some wood!

Alex,

I would love to put some of your images into the colouring book. I was hoping to use it to amuse the kids at the upcoming 21st Birthday night, but it would be a great thing to sell at the Nationals. The colouring book packaged with some Tan crayons. Grin

Perfect.......

Do you want to give me the wording?  You're the one who gets his artwork ripped off, after all.

Craig.
Updated the pic slightly. Here it is again.
Now about that FCEK, Did you know that one of those actually existed at one time. I saw a classified advert in a hot rod mag from the early 70's? that included a photo. It didn't look bad, kinda like a prototype FB or a styling design for the updated FC.

How does this one grab you officer ,I mean Sheriff ,It was a little more time consuming than expected but the Harlequin paint and lowering job along with that 2inch drop in the roof height make for viewing pleasure .

Here's a good candidate but see if you can change the colour while your at it ,Maybe an outrageous  shade of shiny primer
