Inertia Reel Seat Belts in the Back

I want to put inertia-reel belts in the back.  All the previous posts on seat belts have only addressed the front seats.

My question to people who have put these belts in the back is:  What did you use to get a flat surface on which to mount the mechanism for the outside seats?  If the reel doesn't sit flat, it won't allow free run-out of the belt.

Help please.

 G`day Martin , I have just fitted inertia belts in the back of the wifes EK , they are a klippan brand , fairly common belt , and I just bolted them to the rear parcel shelf . They work like a charm.
I put inertia belts in the back of my HQ Monaro a year or so ago, they were sourced from Stampys seatbelts in Victoria because he had the colour I needed . They came with a drawing describing how to mount them under the parcel shelf so the belt just comes out of a slot in the parcel shelf and all the mechanism is hidden in the boot-very neat.

if you use the plates that come with seat belts for the dicky (3rd row seats ) on commodore or falcon wagons rhis will give you the flat surface required can post pics of plate out my falcon wagon if required

 The Klippan kits had the plates , bolts , etc supplied with the belts.

Blacky, how far inboard from the side of the car/window did you mount the reels?  Maybe I sholud have used the word "horizontal" instead of "flat" as the FC parcel shelf dips down at the edges and the reels would be on a lean - is the EK parcel shelf flat right across the car?

Klippan is what I'll be using as that's what I've got in the front & I'll be matching them up.

 I mounted them just far enough in from the side of the car so the mechanism clears the back window, that also puts the bolt hole next to the bootlid hinge . I had to use an angle drill to drill the holes as a normal drill would not fit in there.
The EK parcel shelf is flat all the way across, just another example of why they are superior to their FE/FC cousins

You couldn't see where he mounted the reels though as he had a couple of sub-woofers in the boot.

Neat, Stinky.  If the reels are mounted on the boot floor it would be a pretty long belt - but I'll think about that.

 The belts I mounted in my Monaro come out of the parcel shelf like that FE , they are mounted on an angle bracket bolted to the parcel shelf so the mechanisms sit vertically like the front ones.

This works with a commodore backrest, don't know about the stock seat arrangement though?
Inertia-reel is out ofa VP rear and is made to mount at an angle.

Now why didn't I think of the, Blacky?  Sounds like a relatively easy solution.

Can't see the reel, SGO, but getting one that works on an angle is a thought, too.
