Alfi.....well done on your car !

The styling is not my cup of tea, but it's your cup of tea to be had, and as Craig said...you can;t help but admire the work you have done !

As far as the Engine Bay goes...to me...you deserve a medal !   You have achieved what HOLDEN should have done with the VK.....a "TASTEFULLY" desgined built and painted engine bay that suits the car without being tempted to cheapen it with too much bling bling.  There have only been 2 engines I've seen which in my opinion were better than the factory versions.....one is a Chev V8 in a FC Wagon ( Recent Street Machine Mag ), and yours.....I absolutely love it....it's neat, tidy, oh so clean, I just keep looking at it. Cool

Same goes with your interior.....you have a lot of Commodore gear in there which is something else I'd rather not put into my cup of tea....but you have done it well...it somehow works, looks right, and still says "FC".

The Rear bumpers moulding around the exhausts  ect ect..it just screams "attention to detail".

You have obviously put alot of thought into the car, let alone the time and money to build it.

Congratulations.....you should be very proud of your work.

Looks like I may have to try Herbal Teas ( lol ).

Thanks for sharing the pics !

well he certainly has a lot to say about nothing dont he Huh

and to have built a "fully customised" gemini would qualify him to comment on anything especially seeing that it won a trophy at a small show ONCE ( but it really was the queen of the show circut, really it was Roll Eyes Roll Eyes) the mind boggles as to what he would have classed as customised, maybe he had a 15 inch subwoofer and a full sick stereo and possibly, just possibly a 6 inch exhaust tip just to set the whole thing off. i wonder where it is now?

frankly all i can say is STICK YOUR HEAD UP YOUR A*** AND HAVE A GOOD HARD LOOK AT YOURSELF  Angry Angry

alfio well done mate the car is a credit to you,.

i actually just had to have a look at his wonderful creations, and well lets just say that i was not suprised to see his work but i did have a really good laugh Grin

the gemini "show" car looked like it had every bolt on piece of fiberglass that was ever made, that was about it.

cheers for posting the photo of the FX was thinking of doing it myself, now i am of an open mind and appreciate the time and effort that goes into building a custom from what was once just a vision but seriously this FX would have to be the ugliest creation that i have seen, and he has the nerve to bag alfio's work.

Hi.
Got a big mouth that fella. Don't let it worry you, Alfio. You are very good at what you do & although I am a "stockie" lover, I can see what you have done is amazing. I didn't see the post, but he was sprouting about how rough it was, so I assume it was just senseless babble.
That is the second time he has said stuff that has beefed me, so I have joined SRV & have given him "My" opinion. Lets see what he thinks about that. He actually seems like an OK guy & has some great posts on that site, so I am confused as why he would do that.

Hmmmm, great, another forum I can get into fights on Wink
I will have to rouse the troops & give him some grief. Sarge, Emu, Kiwi, where are you??

Thanks RET for pulling those posts.

Restoring a car is hard, time consuming and a huge effort.

Modifying a car is even harder, as it requires lots more leg work and investigation into various engineering options.

Customizing a car is a personal choice, and produces an individual result that will either be appreciated or mis-understood by others.

Alf has restored the car, modified it, and then customized it as well. An ENORMOUS undertaking, and one to be admired not admonished.

Cheers,

Craig.

Alfio,
I think the job you've done on your car is sensational, especially to all those that are in to the custom look.  I myself wish I could do mods to my car but unfortunately I'm not very good at that sort of thing so I have to stick to the bolt ons!!!
There's always someone who is not going to like what you do, maybe they should keep their opinions to themselves.  I love the continental kit and have discussed it before with my mates in regards to FE - Fc's, it is now good to finally see one done, to such good workmanship.  Looking forward to checking the car out at the Nat's.  Cheers,

Hi Alf
You should be realy prould of what you have acheived with the car. Do not let those who knock it upset you. You may find that they would like to be able to do something like that and a re not able to. Come on Nats and we can ALL see the car in the flesh.

Alfio,
Your car is amazing.  If people can't appreciate the skill and quality that has gone into this, then don't even waste your time worrying about them.  Anyone who appreciates cars (stock or modified or anywhere in between) can see that your work is first class.  As others have said here, by building a custom, you will always get detractors, and people will either love it or hate it.  At least they should have the courtesy to acknowledge the quality of workmanship.

I've been looking at Alex's pictures for a couple of days trying to figure out if you might have drawn your inspiration from any other cars.  I'll take a guess and say 1950 Studebaker, especially with the lengthened front guards.  I won't be at the Nats, but I hope to see your car one day.  Certainly a change from Rosie, but the quality and skill hasn't changed. Shocked Shocked Shocked

I love the Continental look of the rear.   Grin

i cant believe how much work and mods you have done while leaving the car still being obviously an FE Holden,i love the continental back end ,i hope my interior comes out looking half that good, and now ive seen those big flairs im thinking i can actually use my deep dish Westerns that are sitting in the garage on my ute ,as they stick out about an inch wider than body work and require quite a big lip to avoid rubbing.
by the way who owns that batmobile FJ in other photo's,is it a smashup caravan derby entrant, gotta love those matching painted wheels lol Cry

Hi Gang,

I've been lurking for a while but thought I may as well post. Some of you may know me from the Ozrodders, HAMB or FB-EK forums.  Do you have intro nazi's here, if so I'll do one over the next day or two.

Alfio the car is absolutely amazing, the quality of your work speaks for itself. The styling of the front is very similar to a 49 ford owned by Keith Weesner (Hotord Artist in the US) and I really like how you did the conti Kit. The car reminds me of an old american custom but I cant quite work out which one, it may be a combination of a few. Keep up the excellent work..
