just decided last week to put a but of paint on the old girl to make it feel a bit more loved until i get around to fixing rust in sill panel and front floor.
well actually it is to give myself a hurry up as it does not look so sad sitting on back wall of garage.lol.

started welding in patch peices yesterday,20 minute rule blew out to 2 hours ,much grinding required but when i went to lh side behind door i actually heard the sizzle sound instead of crackle and pop that i read about in article i found on mig welding site, means ive finally worked out wire speed myself and smoother welds will come so i can be a bit less scared of doing sill panel myself, lol, sorry i accidently deleted side repair  when cropping photo's,the biggest patch was beside spare wheel  door keyhole then the right side bottom, its funny most have just small area on right and left side bottom must be just the shape traps dirt i suppose, ive seen about 30 FC FE's with rust here and only about 6 had bad rust running past here to corners, the other strange spot ive found that rusts on most  FE and FC's is about 1 inch under tail light's lots of people miss it as metal gets very thin there but often does not break through so is missed in rebuilds luckily i did not find any on this ute but my sedan has it both sides ,had to tap with hammer and sure enough little hole appeared. so beware when looking for needed repair sections.
cheers Nick

nicko just a tip,
                       unless it's a super quick/cheap
clean up,you are suppose to fix the rust before
you repaint mate.why didn't you re-move the
chrome bit's first too, alot of work the wrong
way around  buddy,if it's your first
attemp fair enough.but you will not forget ya mistake's,
if you need any tip's just ask on
the forum and someone will help you out with idea's.
beleive me it's easier. Wink

p.s i'am not bagging you,i'am just scratching
my head remembering all my failed attemp's too. Wink
                                         cheer's col.

i was just making it look good to make me pull my finger out and work on car instead of looking at it in corner of garage looking all too much.
until i put Harko's 20 minute-2hour rule into practice as its getting a full respray when all is done, with all chrome removed.
