Hi everyone

Attached are photos of our new addition. It is a 1957 model, 55,000 miles indicated, two owners, history except the wife of the original owner wouldn't pass on the books. It has been painted, however interior is completely original and very good, original floor mat in front is brittle and has some cracks.

Colour is Shoreline Beige, not sure what the flash is.

Numbers are;

BODY ID: FE-225-31100-A
TRIM NO: 184-473
PAINT NO: 256-7484
ENGINE BLOCK NO: 7408858

It is not the original engine, it started with L365... I think. Don't know what the engine is from, any ideas?

Now that I've got the beige with the grey, I'm looking for the cream, the bone, the ivory and the off white

That engine number looks an awful lot like a part number to me.  Non-prefixed engine numbers finished at 283372.

Beautiful looking car, John.  Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

cheers

John, have a look at the machined section of block just forward of the dissy, you will find the eng no there.

Can you also find a chassis no anywhere?

Hi Ken.

Will find the inner guard number. That is the number that is stamped on the block. Any ideas?

Great looking car.  Good to see another "poo" mobile about.   Detroit stripe colour looks like mine, Corsair Tan, though my other colour is Castle Grey, which is in fact an off-white.  You certainly are fortunate to locate such a fine original example of an FE.  Well done!  Cheers,   Mike.

 Thanks for the comments fellas.

Too late to book for the Nats  Cry, but will fly down and drive out on Saturday for a look.

I can give a lift if anyone would like one. At this stage I will fly back Saturday night.

Cheers

Hi Ken.

I have now received the car and can confirm it has its original engine L396595, as RET thought I was quoted the block part Number  Roll Eyes

Chassis No is 7. 15265B.

The flash appears to be Corsair Tan
