Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice! You gotta love a car with a deep paint job like that. What colour do you plan to paint in between that beautiful Detroit kit? Maybe Poo Brown? Craig may have a few litres spare? Craig, Feed him a few VBs & he will be a push over. I think "Poo brown" & Blue are made for each other. Rob J

Rob, I'm thinking of ivory for the flash and for the roof. Today I cleaned up an old interior I had floating around and threw the back seat in it. I think it may work... The matching fron seat is a camping conversion, so I hope the mechanism shall withstand the acceleration this puppy will be capable of when finished. The black section may need to be vinyl painted - it's looking a bit ordinary around the base. The red section is relatively new (15 years as opposed to 50) so it's err, bright.

Ed,
That's correct. I initially went to see it solely for parts, and thought it looked pretty good.
After cleaning it all up and inspecting it in detail I decided it was a sound base for a V8 project car.
As you can see, it was well advanced.
Regards
Ed

An update on progress. Rubbers have been refitted and panels hung. New front and rear bars have been installed. The Painless wiring kit is being laid out ready for making up the loom. Short of a few parts to complete the headlights, however that won't take long to rectify. Front end is back from Rod's Racks. The steering rack has been remounted on the crossmember requiring extensive modifications to the CRS set up. Calipers have been reco-ed and discs machined and painted. Just need to fine tune steering lock tabs and wheel clearance on the steering arms. This is where the fun begins. Chevy engines are supposed to be orange! Just having some alignment problems with the alternator pulley but shall wait and see how it fits in the engine bay prior to modifying brackets etc.

No Rusty. I know for a fact, Norm is WAY into Engine Stands. So too is Mal by the look of it. An "Older Guy" thing I think. What is that car, Edward? Datsun 240Z? XP Falcon Coupe? Or maybe a Leyland P76 Force 7!

Ed,
Close, its actually a red Datsun 120Y 2 door automatic. Even has a tan interior.
NICE.
Its "Fast" Eddie's Sunday drive car. The one he takes when he drives up to the organic markets at Redfern in his crochet multi coloured poncho.
He uses it sparingly though, great inventment potential those 120Y's, especially the 2 door versions.
Cheers,
Craig.
