Well, Australia Day here in Sydney only means one thing for car enthusiasts......Motorfest. This show sees some of the streets of Sydney blocked off and filled with over 1000 cars 30 years or older. Our club had 19 FE/FC's on show and a lone EK ringin, with many more getting a knock back due to number restrictions.
Here is a bakers dozen of some of the pics that I took.

Regards
Alex

Looked like a great day out. Shocked  Thanks for the pix, Alex.

What is the story with the Police car?  I haven't seen or heard of it before?

Shayne....the FE police car is a replica put together by Zulu (Gary) complete with phone and period accessories on the seats etc. The Police and public are always attacted by it. Apparently Gary and I made the evening news, showing us as we drove in.

SRV....the Mcphee FE is also a replica put together by a NSW member. Complete with hot grey and a colour that gets Bruce's nod as being spot on. I believe the real car still exists and is in storage out in Parkes.

Minifcvan....shame you did not meet up with us, as there was many forum members present on the day.

Alex
Great photos as usual, But more amazed that you got clear shots with no one walking in front of you. Every time I went to take a photo I would end up with 30 people in the frame.

Hey Glenn.
Patience gets the shot.
I would stand in the 1 place for up to 10 minutes to get the clear shot. Having the digi camera helps, as you can check the shot for stray bodies. Sometimes I would take another shot to get it clearer. Dave is also handy to have around, as he got the Police to pose and worked the crowd out of the picture for me as well.  Grin

Thanks for the pics Alex & Dave, as usuall I didn't have my camera, and I also missed meeting the girlies  Cry nice to have the pics to save.

To any one who could not make it, or has not been before, it's a great day with plenty to see and do.

The FE is a business sedan, it's owner was a Polish refugee who had the car just about all his life, he worked in SA and also on the Snowy Mountains Scheme, it has been well protected with a good dose of body deadener (even inside the hubcaps) and blankets etc covering the seats.

Ken Mclean purchased it from the estate of the deceased owner, who lived in VIC, and I bought it from Ken & drove it home from Hoppers Crossing in Vic.

As most of you will know the Business Sedan & Standard
models were cheaper than the Specials, and often purchased by Government departments & businesses.

As a bit of fun the police cars previous disguises have been the " Travelling Accountant" and the"Sandy Flats Taxi", but the Police pak seems most popular.

I have no plans to restore this car, although the bodywork is less than perfect, it reflects the cars long life on the road and adds to it's character.

Cheers, Gary

Here's a few more pics for 'ya.....

The McPhee FE....

And a pic of the Channel Seven guys preparing for thier news report in amongst the old Holdens....

Apparently the clip can be seen at http://seven.com.au/news/video (and click on the "Big Day Out for Australians" link)... I can't get it to work, but you guys might have more luck...

Hey Les.
Thanks for the pics and the link.
The link worked for me. I watched that 7 guy film his segment. Lots of people jumped in the pic and he had to do it over and over.
