FC Holdens & Mini Coopers....Cars of the Century

My search for a good set of Special Rear Quarter Panel Scripts continues.

I'm looking for as close to new as possible, or at least a set good enough that I can rechrome.

All lugs must be in tact, as I already have 3 scripts, but lugs are broken.

I've had a couple of offers, but due to genuine reasons, were not suitable, so my search continues.

Can anyone help.......my car gets out of the paint shop this weekend, and they are about the only badges I don;t have.

( Scripts not shields ).

Cheers

Mark,
I may have some good news for you on this.  I am investigating reproducing these and the scripts for the wagons.
It will all come down to numbers if we (Jake and I) can sell enough to make it viable.
Can any other interested parties indicate if they woul be interested also?

That would be excellent !

How would you be doing this or is it a trade secret, as I've heard that Rare Spares ones, never fit properly to the factory holes, which is probably why sales fell, and hence they stopped producing.

Maybe, if they made them to Exacting measurements then more people would buy.

They still make the shields but not the scripts Huh?

If you keep the pricing realistic you'll be sure to get a lot of guys interested. But if you charge like $80 / side which I've seen advertised, then you maybe against it a bit.

PLease keep me up to date with this.   I wish you luck, and if it all works out, I'll be in the market for a couple !

Cheers

Mark,
No good doing them unless they fit the factory holes. At this stage they look like being somewhere between $40-$50 each, chromed with clips ready to fit for the sedan scripts. Should know what the wagon ones will be and firm prices later this week. Cheer Alan and Jake.

Mark,
Looking like happening mid to late January. I am still searching for the perfect script take a mould of, however I received a fairly reliable lead today.   As soon as I have all details I will add to this thread.

Ace,
We have the choice of zinc a la original or pewter.
At this stage I am leaning towards pewter as it produces a more accurate article with a superior finish for plating.
Did you have an alternative in mind?

You would think pewter is a bit soft for the job, but Steven J from Mt Gambier had the tailgate badge done in Pewter and you wouldn't spot it if he didn't tell you (Sorry Steven if I let the cat out the bag).
