Just wondering if you could help,replacing rear axle seal and bearing but find bearing does not go all the way in with new type seal.Does this have to be purchased sepratley?Car is fc holden thanks.

Sounds like seal is incorrect one.  The seal should not extend up into the area where the bearing seats .  The seal should fit entirely into the seal recess.

Does this make sense?
