Probably a stupid question to most - but is the black window winder 'knob' meant to rotate when winding the window up/down, I have choice of 5 for my ute & all 5 'knobs' don't rotate at all
Cheers Nick

lack of knob rotation would be an issue resulting in too much friction when knob makes contact with hand ![Wink](http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Better try to free up contact between knob and window winder if possible.

Yeah Shayne I would have expected them to but what made me ask is mine seem to be so tight - as if they were not meant to turn, thought if they were just gummed up they should free up with a bit of effort, maybe more effort is needed. (maybe its knob rot) LOL
Cheers Nick

Get a few drops of light oil around your knob and just work it one night while in front of the tellie or something.
I found it works wonders for my stuck knobs.

Will that little bit of oil mean that your hand will slip off the end? ![Grin](http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Sounds like age and lack of use have caught up with your knob. Just keep rubbing something will give sooner or later. ![Smiley](http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Cheers Sarge

Thanks guys for all the 'professional' help. After some intense twisting, turning & plenty of oil one of my 'knobs' is not as stiff now - so will try my other 'knob' tonight.
Settle down Smithy - and no this IS the FE/FC forum for certain - you should always read the question first !!
Sarge age maybe part of the problem but lack of use should'nt be - well I don't think so anyway ??
Cheers Nick LTMS (laughing to my self)

Let me get this straight...
You have two knobs,
They are both stiff!
And only elbow grease will fix them?

I put lubricant on my knob and it would not penetrate so I still have stiff knobs in the ute ![Cool](http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/Smileys/default/cool.gif)
