just thought i'd share the latest update with y'all.
after she has been sitting in the garage being put together over the last twelve months i pushed it out to wash the cover of dust away and realised i have'nt actually seen the car side on from a distance in over a  year, with wheels on  Huh Tongue

well this is the result, just need some braided lines made up for the front and a handbrake cable then lookout Grin Grin, oh and some new tyres. Tongue. and looking at the pic it still has to come down at least an inch at the rear.

no matter how hard i tried the true colour which is a custom mix of phantom pearl could not be seen it flips between black and a beautiful blue, the only time you can see the purple is in direct sun.

thanks for everyones help and support from this site, without your help it would still be a battered shell and i would be in a nice comfy white room with very soft walls Wink

cheers heaps

Sheite,
i didnt realise my last update was so long ago. doesnt time fly Roll Eyes
well apart from ripping some of the interior out to re make a new console. hacking into my boot and fuel tanks to accomodate the efi,re plumbing the fuel lines, sorting out the EFI harness plus a lot of head scratching and swearing over the last 12 months this is what i did today.
3 steps forward 2.5 stumbles back ( but im still going forward  Grin Grin )

Finally bolted the head down, took it niiiice and easy today no stripped threads Grin Grin
then just to make sure everything was going to fit nice had to bolt up the manifolds and wouldnt you know it the **%$#%^ exhaust manifold doesnt clear the chasis rails. aaaarrrggghhhh Angry

but over the next few weeks i should have the wiring sorted for the sensors and ECU  :-/.

then the fun really starts Roll Eyes

and to think there it was idling nice and sweet with twin carbs, all i needed was a mexican blanket for seat covers and a few little things and im away. but nooo
i wanted to try something different didnt i. i wanted it to look finished when i registered it.

well whats another year in the grand scheme of things Roll Eyes. Wink Wink

i'll keep you posted.

Dean,

That setup looks stunning mate, and what's better is your conversion to Delco 808.

sure it's different, and is harder to setup, but the ease of maintenance and re-tunable EFI will be the big reward.

keep at it, lookin great.

Cheers

Ed

PS did u make it down/up to Goulburn on sat?

cheers for the words of encouragement Ed, yeah as a complete newby to the EFI world it does get a bit daunting and overwhelming at times but ive got great support.

Unfortunately didnt get the chance to go out to Goulburn for the rods ( bloody other commitments) but had a look at them on the Friday in Canberra then managed to drive out to the White Ibis where everyone was camping and we watched the cruising for and hour or so. some damn fine machines getting around, and some bloody nice people too.
even a couple of FC utes and 2 FB/EK utes also.

next year i should be cruising aswell.

Sing out if you need help for wiring,
it's actually easy just time consuming...
ive got a great way to cut and shut wires with no solder and is as strong as the original wire and waterproof!

We (Alex, John R, Jonesy and myself) cruised to Goulburn and met up with Fatboy and mini Fatboy (Christian), and had a good look at some cars, unfort, they wouldn't let mine in the reserved area as it was for Entrants only.

Cheers

That looks smick, nicely detailed, that manifold must have sucked to polish.
did you use the 3 pipes wide at the botttom vk factory extractors, i think they are stainless but they are a bit wide down the bottom. does anyone know what extractors that harko guy who used to come on here had on his green FC?

cheers Ed, i might just take you up on the offer
what is this method your talking about, drop me a pm im interested Wink
ive dropped hints for choco's book on EFI for my birhtday
(ive left the order details stuck to the book advertisment on her bedside table Grin Grin )
subtle i know.
i did try and use the factory ones but they do go wider at the bottom. the pipes from the old egnine clear nicely but most  ports just miss in alignment, and just the first and sixth runners need a to take a different angle
. i'll see if its cheaper to modify mine or chace up new ones

and yes
