Hi guys, I know this may seem a little odd, but I remember in Don Lofflers books a section about de-coding the foundary stamp on the drivers side of the engine block to give an approximate engine date, well of the block at least, does anyone have this info or can help me to de-code the following engine stamping

6271, and above this is moulded a 7
Engine number is B216602
and also on block is 7412817, which I think is the part number??

Pics to show what I mean:

Hi earlyholdenfan.

I think the 1st character is a G, which stands for the month of July.

If I read it correctly, the date code is July 27th 1961.

The B216602 engine number is approx 40,000 units into EK production.

Hope this helps.

Dr Terry.
