hi all

when i fill my fuel tank full and park the car on even the slightest angle towards the left hand side of the car alot of fuel leaks out from under the cap. is this a common problem or is there a seal that i can get for my cap or a new cap all together?

any info would be appreciated

cheers Paul

Hence your icon? Grin

This is unfortunately normal with the ancient style of non-vented cap/neck/filler.  The same thing happens with sedans when parked uphill with a full tank of juice.  The fact is that the tank is over-full.  To allow for the expansion of the fuel you should really stop filling it shortly after the first time the pump auto-stop kicks in.  Remember that petrol was nice and cool underground until you went and put it in your hot car.  It's got to expand somewhere.

If you use those Woolies/Coles dockets there's not even any point filling it up to the nearest dollar any more, after the discount it still winds up an odd amount.  Either way, a dollar doesn't go very far at the pump these days...

cheers
