I have a remote oil filter for our grey motor, which is missing a vital fitting. Namely the 'R59-1/4 Elbow' which attaches the oil inlet pipe to the top of the filter body. Does anyone know if these are still available?
Also I have the original instruction sheet for fitting the filter, but can't work out how the Flexible hose ('L11D4') which has a cylindrical metal rod at one end, is attached. Does the metal rod end go into the motor or the filter? and how is this end secured? the No. 32 Dole nut & No. 12 connector fitting don't seem to hold it at all. Huh
Any help much appreciated.
Regards,
R.

The elbow should be the same as the elbow on the inlet manifold which provides vaccuum to the pump.  I have these available.
The swivel end of the hose goes into the fitting on the oil filter in both cases
The tapered end goes into the adaptor where the oil pressure switch goes in and the other goes into the engine block as the return port.

Thanks Ken.
Does this mean that there are 2 flexible hoses used in the hook up? (I wondered why there was a 2nd one in the kit). I have a double flared bundy steel tube inlet line which is shown in the instructions sheet as coming off the tee fitting where the oil presure switch goes in and attaching to the oil fiter inlet opening? The flexible (braided) hose is shown going from the bottom (outlet) of the filter and into the block. As to how the metal tube end of this hose is physically held in place, I'm still in the dark. What stops it sliding off under oil pressure?
I will need to buy that elbow from you. Just let me know the total cost (incl. postage).
Thanks

Yes some oil filters had steel pipes instead of flex tubes.

Send me a $5 money order and I will return by post

Thanks to Ken I have the elbow fitting I needed.
I still have a problem with the metal tube end of the braided hose and how I fit it into the threaded crankcase aperture. (see picture-hopefully)

Chris, it has now just dawned on me what is wrong with your hose.  It is an incomplete item - what is missing is the fitting itself and then a flare on the end of the pipe.

Thanks Ken,
Does anyone have a picture of the fitting so that I know what I'm looking for?
