Wheel trim/hub cap removal

What is the best way to remove hub caps from a special sedan (with dress rims fitted) without bending the trims to the ****house?

Hi Rabbitoh.
I use a "Slide-Hammer" like panel beters use. I got one from a local Chickenfeed store (Liquidator). Cost me $15 & works a treat.

There is a proper hub cap removing tool for use with dress rims.  People like Slim sell them (or at peast reproductions of same).

I went to a large wrecking yard and whilst perambulating through the place (never know what you'll find  ) I found that AP6 & VC Valiants have a similar tool, much larger (heavier duty) than the GM-H part.

What do they look like?  Picture your standard hubcap lever with a second 90 degree crank in it.  I'd reckon that someone else has a picture of one to fit.

Hey Rob,

At least you had more liuck than me.  I got sick of getting blank stares when i asked tool shops and hardware stores for a slide hammer, or a pull hammer or any other description I could come up with.

get onto Slim (look him up in the "members" scetion.  The repro tool he has does the job well.
