My preference is the FE. For nearly 20 years I haven't gone a day without an FE in the shed or driveway. I think they are sooo cool. The FC is pretty cool too. Cheers Tony

Dangerous ground guys. :-/ If GMH were carrying out the kind of field testing (that is release the car to the market and see if it breaks ) in the 50's as they were doing in the late 80's then my pick is the FC - which is obviously a field tested and upgraded FE Which is the better car - HD or HR, VN Series 1 or VN Series 2 (OK, all VN's are crap ) Cheers, CraigA (Proud FC , Simca , Skoda , and EA Falcon owner!)

Fe's are great but as Steve rightly points out they are both Holdens and both great cars. Graham

Fc are better. Fe are to plain need chrome you can tell an Fc a mile away by the sun glare off all the chrome as it drives towards you plus everyone knows the second model is always better

I'll bite... Some guys like their girls natural... Some guys like them to wear make up... I prefer mine in a natural state. Jason.

gidday correspondants now it is my turn to weigh in to the controversy. i think that ken sums it up fairly well with his version of what the series codes stand for but if you were to look a little bit closer you might find that if you rearrange the letters f & c in the right way you will finish up with the letters HQ. if you don't believe me try it for yourself and see what you come up with. good luck denis

I wonder if any of us has actually had to make a "true" decision about which is better... When it all comes down to it, most (if not all) the differences and pretty cosmetic. Strip 'em both down and they would look exactly the same. There are too many other variants that come into it when buying your old girl.... maybe some people were given 'em, or inherited 'em... not often would you get the chance to compare two identical vehicles.... In saying that though, if given the unlikely chance to buy either an FE or FC, that were exactly the same colours, same milage, condition, accessories, in the same area etc, and the same price, I guess I would still lean towards the FC model... no real reason that I can think of, I just love 'em.....

I love them both!! I have never owned an FE, but was chasing a 100% standard FE ute (with no front park lights) for a couple of years, had the money sitting there , old guy wouldn't sell , bought a VH Commodore wagon , old guy died , old guy's son sold it to someone else because I had spent the money on a VH wagon . But MAN, I would have loved that car. I have 2 FC's & an FB, but am ALWAYS looking for another BETTER car. i.e. lower mileage, less rust, better condition. FE or FC are both cool in my book!! Keep biting people!! 4hammers

which is better :-/ my first car was an FE, not even old enough to drive, but i loved it. dead straight very little rust, mint interior and a warm grey.and big ideas!!!, but mothers get their way ( when you use their garage) 22 years later and after a stint with later model cars(boring, no personality) ive finally bought an FC bigger plans for this one coz its MY GARAGE this time sorry guy's but michaels right. i just really dig the chrome, you cant beat that grill & side trim either way they are still two of the best looking cars holden has ever put out. stock or modified !!!
