Does anyone have a set of HR stub axles to suit disc brakes they would like to part with? I have a complete HR disc brake front end but don,t want to dismantle it for the stubs as I have a HR front in my ute but it,s only got drums on it and am going to convert it to torana disc,s.

Perfect!

Brett,

The HR sdrum stubs should be used with caliper adaptors for the disc brake conversion.

Cheers

What are caliper adapters and where would I find a set to suit my application? I must sound a bit of a novice as I haven,t heard of them before how hard are they to fit ,does that mean I don,t have to remove my drum stubbs at all? Your input is greatly appreciated thanks ED.

hey brett castlemain rod shop do a conversion kit where they use your HR drum brake stub axles and machine them down slightly to accept commodore rotors and calipers and other setups aswell,  im pretty sure hoppers stoppers in vic also do this upgrade,  i have used the CRS commodore kit and it fits up quite easy.
you might want to check some other posts here re the torana discs as i am pretty sure they will change your wheel track??

Hey Brett,

Adpators are simply metal plates which allow a caliper of your choice to be used.

Best bet is to speak with Ken McLean (FE/FC guru at Hoppers Stoppers)

OR

Castlemaine Rod Shop (CRS).

about the myriad of brake choices available.

google the interweb for contacts, Ken is on this forum.
