someone said the other day they thought it was snowing in the snowies.

Our paper on Saturday had a lovely picture of Perisher Valley blanketed in snow. It is unusual for this time of year. We will be keeping an eye on this.

Hi guys,
Even if it snows it is unlikely that you'll need chains. Anyone coming from the north (via Cooma) will not need chains. Those traveling via Khancoban & thredbo may need chains IF it snows, which as Colin said, is very unlikely. Keep an eye on the weather reports.

you aren't serious about the snow are you, I was kidding about the chains, there would be no chance in hell off getting them on my car without shredding the guards.
I guess I will just have to indulge in the loss of traction.
perhaps we should have some snow driving events incorporated into the nationals while we have the chance.

The best way to explain snow to people from the dusty areas is that it is just lumpy water and here in the frosty area we look foward to it falling at anytime of the year however late March is shirt sleeve time in the snowies.
As for chains back in the old days when FC's were new winter treads were the go.

I'll bet I CAN fit your cars with SNOWCHAINS mates! Only problem -- you'd have to SHIP them to the US to be fitted [ long WET drive otherwise  ] I've fitted Beemers, MBs, and Porches here that the owners were told "can't be done" SNOWCHAINS101 provided with EVERY set fitted by the San Diego Highwayman As long as you HAVE a "fingers width" clearance a Security Chain Co. product will fit and function reliably Isn't the internet wonderfull? Good to hear from you, Highwayman.
Not too many Holdens (the home-grown Aussie GM product) in the U.S. How did you find our site?
Obviously you like the 1950s vehicles. Your pieced-togther vehicle looks like it has a 1959-60 Ford V8 front (in Oz the sedans were sold as "Customline" and the utes (Oz for Utility - "pick-up" in your language) were badged "Mainline"). Even for a Ford, they were a pretty good vehicle.

Howdy Martin, Was "surfin" with a snowchains keyword and your site popped up -- Thanks for welcome  SAR rig is 55 Ford Country Sedan from windscreen back and 56 Crown Victoria from windscreen forward -- was severly wrecked when I first aquired it in 66. lots of additions-changes over 600,00+ miles since I DO appreciate old classics -- AM one myself Gday  |

Lucky the nats wasn't on this weekend.......the road from Cooma to Jindabyne was closed because of heavy snowfalls  Shirtsleeve weather? I don't think so! |

They also lost all power in Jindabyne due to ice build up on the power lines, they just fell over. |
