in the late 70's i came across plastic covers on door trims and seats on several occasions and the couple i asked about both siad they got their cars with the covers on already, maybe they were an option from the dealer

I looked at buying a stocko yet badly deteriorated FB sedan a year or two back which had the plastic on the seats (or what was left of them) too.

Having only ever looked at about 2 FBs in detail in my life I didn't think much of it.

Beautiful looking rig!

Very sweeet looking vehicle, Steve.  Great paint and chrome, and some nice accessories.

One nice thing about the plastic seat covers - they don't take away the joy of the sweaty back and arse on a warm day.

Great looking car Steve, was that the car that was at the Spray shop in Ferntree Gully for a while? The door trim covers are not a original fit as they were always left as they were made in the factory the clear plastic seat covers are a custom fit probably from Super Trim in Preston. All the same a nice package and got to love the Grey and White FC's as i have one so i am biased, maybe the two cars can meet at the Nationals?

:)No,will not be able to attend the nats due to a daughters first child being due that same weekend !but will be looking forward to Phillip Island in 06 and hope to meet you guys there .This was probably the same car that was in the panel shop F/Tree Gully ,was advertised in the trading post ,I was first to look at and bought on the spot ,car was painted and motor and gearbox reconditioned but unregistered ,since purchase have fitted new tyres ,mud flaps ,headlight guards ,amber rear blinkers, external mirrors, hood emblem ,wheel trim rings ,car was fitted with air chief radio, reverse lights, and windscreen washers ,but someone has stolen the washer bottle and bracket so will be on the lookout for one of those to make it complete ,has cost a bit but still less than the cost of a full restoration I think .cheers Steve.
