From memory i think brake places quote about $1.50 per foot... so bugger all if you're paying trade price i guess.

The correct pipe for brakes is available by the metre at all brake places, dont remember the cost but its not too dear. It is a composite metal material. You will need to double flare all fittings, they will do it for you but the tool is not ovally dear, I double flare all my fittings, fuel and brake. To bend them most can be set gently by hand but for tight radius bends I use a refrigeration pipe bender. These also are not expensive and achieve a high quality bend. You may have to do it a couple of times till you get the feel of it. After making the pipes for that nice "shiny" look I sent them off to be zinced. Not for the purists though !!,

Last week I had a pipe made up for a shortened 10 bolt and was pretty surprised at the price ,The peice I had made was from the dividing block to the right hand wheel-about 40cm I guess and cost $17 ,Just remember to measure what length you need before you go in ,Or take the pipe with you if its easy enough.
