This is a shot of downtown Penrith in the early 1960s (not sure of the exact date). Seems to be plenty of old Holdens....

... and in the closeup below, you can see what looks like an old 48 ute with a fancy paint job and canopy, along with 3 FE/FC wagons! An FE wagon comeing down the road, and FC (possibly a Standard wagon) in front of that, and another one pulling in fron of the Morris....

Cheers
Les...

Great photo Les, recognise exactly where that is.  It hasn't changed all that much, except you need to substitute doof-doof mobiles for the Holdens in the picture, and delivery trucks/van for everything else Roll Eyes

Thanks for sharing.

cheers

Les
Its been a few years since I was last back home in Panther country.

Its amazing to look at these pics and i think it really has not changed that much over the years. The street and buildings that is. As for the kids and cars well cars are plastic not classic and the kids are not so inicent these days.

Might be just me, but the rear RH wheels on the tipper truck in the last photo appear to be off the road, must have been a good pothole!!

Les, Nice to see some early pics of Penrith, Peter, I think the camera might have caught the rear wheels running over a cop, a silent cop that is, well silent now anyway.
