hey ED you used to be able to buy kits for small block Chev's,to put alternator in a couple of different places so it might have similar set up for Holden so you can relocate it at bottom near chassis rail

Hi nicko,
Ive tried reinventing this wheel a few times, and the best fit using a factory part is a HK mount... albeit ugly as it puts the alternator in a beautiful in your face position.
I'm using a 120A alternator which is a touch longer than an older style alternator, but will use a belt tensioner if need be...
I'm keen to get the machine on the road and will worry about smaller details later.
