A few club members from NSW headed over to Blacktown Drive In on Sat night for a run organised by Old Time Hot Rod club. Great night, with some cool cars. Thought some might like to see some pics. Regards Alex

A few more..... Dig the wheels on that 57. These 2 34 Ford coupes rocked up. Cars were very similar, nice sound as these blown beasts rumped in together. Sorry about the picture quality.....it was dark. Regards Alex

This T roadster was in my opinion the nicest car there. The Drive In Manager thought so too......he gave it his trophy. Regards Alex

thanks for the pics Alex. I too like the FJ convertible. I haven't seen or heard of it before- do you know anything about it? Do you think the 'KUZ' on the number plate stands for Custom, or could he be a Kiwi?

I've seen that FJ at a couple of events in the Penrith area in the last few months, so I'm guessing it's a local car. It's got a really coarse metalflake paint job - like glitter that kids play with, with ghost flames IIRC. Unusually, the interior features plenty of timber, but she's a bit rough around the edges. I think it's got a Commodore V6 or V8 in it, but I've only ever seen it parked, not heard it running or seen it driving around.
cheers RET

I'm guessing the movie they went to watch was a MARCEL MARSO creation, as I can;t imagine anyone hanging those big heavy and old metal speakers on the windows and doors of those cars. Then again, if they turned all the speakers up high and left them hanging on the posts, you coudl probalby hear the movie !
Great pics, great idea for a club run...what a sight it would have been ! Well Done !
Cheers
Mark

Chips on the top of your glass from speakers is kind of cool, one day all the drive ins may become extinct and we will have the chipped edges to remind us of the good old days. Unfortunately when ever there is a drive in night we have to sit through hours of crap movies when they should be putting on some cool hot rod flicks.
