Can anyone please tell me where I might find a cross-flow head for a grey motor?  I would love to get a hold of one for my FB ute.  Thanks!

Hi scott
We'd all love one!
I know a guy out Bathurst way who has a few, a old racer from way back.
He recently sold one for $5000.00 and that needed repairing. These days he says they need approximatley  $ 3000.00 worth of re-engineering and machine work to bring them up to scratch. You don't buy one and just bolt it on any more, not these days. They need a LOT of work. Castings repaired, new rocker shafts, rockers and bushes, adjusters etc. Most of which has to be custom made by a machine shop. You can't go out and buy spares off the shelf for them.  You also need an angled dizzy to fit under the inlet manifold, again, very rare these days or you get it custom built. Plus custom built exhaust manifold if the original one is missing. He estimates it costs approx 10 grand to get it on the motor and working as new. A lot of expense for only an extra 23 HP. It's not an economical proposition. Better of spending a grand on porting etc on your stock head, plus you'll get more horses doing that. The cross flows do look very cool though.....

Cheers

There was an FB or EK (cant remember which) at the last Vic All Holden Day with one in it.  VERY COOL.
Got a photo of it for my collection.

First time I've seen one in a car other than an FX or FJ.
