notice the Kawasaki bike blinkers.  Cool! I've been thinking about some custom mods for my FE sedan, and I've just been inspired to get some of those  Maybe mounted on the top of the fins. What do you think? RET |

Dean, I beleive that the struts were originally off a Ford , but are fairly common... I came across them at the panel shop that I have the car so cannot give you an exact idea. But fitting the was very simple, the top of the struts fitted to the original holes in the upper tailgate, while the bottom went straight in the bottom of the two existing holes on both sides. I originally retapped the thread, but was not suitable so had to weld a nut into place. As it turned out the nut that I welded on was exactly the right spacing for the clearance of the strut to the body of the car. Jason |

Thought you might like to see a custom version of the custom FC that your custom van will be customised to in a similar custom way to so now we're all happy customer's exept I dont see a second set of flutes..?  |

Here are a couple of photo's that my brother took for me the other day. i can't remember who was asking about fitting a V6 latelty but the engine fits easily with the raised tunnel. The Hadfield kit needed to be modified to bolt the gearbox on, but apparently this is normal with these kits supplied.  This one show the commodore instrument cluster with the gear selector and handbrake also from the Vt Commodore.   Jason |

great work looks like it is comeing along just fine.
just a few questions
what motor are u using(vs/vt/vx??)
how hard was the grafting of the vt dash into place??
i noticed the pedal boxs were of a vt but which booster are u using??
any other help would be much appreciated.
i have a fc special sedan and have just finished the hr front end complete with the vt big brakes
and next i will start on the inside. i have purchased the conv kit form v6 conversions so this is making it a bit easier.

G'day Scarey, The whole lot is out of a Vt Donor car that I purchased at the auctions. Pedal assembly and booster from getting out of the Vt to installing into the van took 6 hours. This required 5 holes to be drilled, then by cutting the original peddle assembly where it meets the Vt, welding each other together to remove any firewall flex. They basically match perfectly. The steering column from the commodore has also been shortened to suit. The Vt dash took a little nutting out at first but ended up being pretty simple. If you align the original lugs from the bottom of the cluster to the bottom of the dash and then weld 2 pieces in place so that the cluster slips in between these. Fashion the top mounting nuts according to how far back you want to tilt the cluster and weld the pieces to the top of the dash and then the removal of the cluster is obtained by undoing to bolts.... Hopefully you get what I mean. If not just give me a call. The outside piece took a little more time and patience but after about a week it is nearly right. The whole wiring loom is from th Vt also. Nice progress shots, looks like you've been real busy.
that tunnel looks enormous and nice one with the dash and headlight switch.
Im going to put up some more progress shots, as soon as i get some more batteries for the camera.
