Hey mate, saw you have a few threads now looking for what you want. I am really (desperately) trying to keep the standard look. Brett_f has the auto one but its HR

The FB/EK (Hydramatic) Auto column is the only one I can find that will take an FC steering wheel and has the auto gear change. They are not common. I put the feelers out on both this site and the EK site and nothing really came up. STILL LOOKING if anyone has one. Wink V6 conversions (for $600) will remove the steering box and convert to adapt to the manual steer rack and also instal the cable to change gears. Trouble is that it is not collapsable. In which case I am going to resleave the outside with HK steer column. Alien columns will turn it into a collapsable with rack adaptor only for 1200 (if you supply EK and the HK columns).

So what I have come up with for mine is to

+Use EK column
+Change PRND display piece
+V6 Conversions change steer box and add Cable gear change
+Brett_f wiper switch
+Fuel gauge adaptor for VS commodore Fuel tank
+VSS electronic to mechanical speedo adaptor

This should keep the interior looking standard, Hope it helps....

seems my column i had modified at rods racks is no good and not worth using . so may look at the ek column nes232, but leaning towards a new column to suit to save the hassle. feel a bit ripped off for what i paid for and didnt get in the long run.

what i wanted to be achieved from the conversion was to change the current 3 on the tree to a auto column to keep the same look and bench seat setup . i supplied the the column along with other parts from vb,vc ? i think ,was a while ago. then to have it collapsible as per rods racks website. when it was going. not knowing the ins and outs of the change and modification but the final result which was agreed on is now only realizing that it things were not done at all.

a bloke at alien retro columns said that this gear box should have a electronic lockout in the gear box. he seemed pretty sure it does so i will check with a transmission guy local.
