Scott,
As far as i know FB-EK standard or commercial had a stainless front guard strip not cast.
Where there are left and right handed parts, early Holden part numbers that end in a even number are for the drivers side and part numbers that end in a odd number are for the passengers side.
I'll check my parts books and see if i can find out what model its for. Wink

I checked my 48 - FB parts book, and the #'s do not go up to 742.... My 48 - HR book does not list the number, but it also does not list a moulding for FB EK panelvan or ute. It may have been a replacement #.

Thanks Alex
after looking at the pair of spears on ebay mine looks different to those. the only reason i think it is fb ek is the box of goodies i got has a mixture of fe/c and fb/ek bits and pieces.
cheers

I've checked the FX to HR parts book and it's not there either as a listed part or a superseded part.
I'ts definately not FB/EK commercial as stated above the y are a stainless strip - not cast.

Can you describe the strip?

Scott,

Scott,

Got a mate of mine to look up his Master Parts Catalogue this is his reply -

The closest number I can find to this one is part number 7425013 under 'Accessories' which lists it as a 'front fender top package' under the heading of 'ornament' for both FB and EK. Part number 7425012 doesn't rate a mention.

Hi Stewart, Trev and Ken
thanks for your input. it is interesting what you have found out with that close part number Stewart, something ACE posted earlier about p/no ending in odds and even numbers being for left an right.

trev,
it could be a wind split,as it looks nothing like the guard spear in your picture. ok if i email you a couple of pictures for you to post as im not up to speed with that yet, i can get photos on ebay easier.

Ken
it measures only 15" and is bolted on with two studs 9" apart.chrome side to me ressembles the hull of a boat, hope that helps.
cheers

Scott,
Part number 7425012.

Its a windsplit, also sometimes known as a  guard spear ( depends on who you talk to ) to suit FB or EK.  It fits on the front top of the front guard and is the same for left and right. It is cast metal with a chrome finish and secured by 2 nuts from under the guard.
Have you got one or two?

Earlee.
