Just my little bit re the Tow bar issue. My FC sedan has had a tow bar and associated undercarriage steel fitted since new and according to my info it was fitted pre delivery. While it was definetly not a Nasco or GMH item the dealers would contact the suppliers and have it fitted. In the case of my car it was a Hayman Reece set up and it also had overide springs fitted at the same time. If you look at some mid to late 50s periodicals you will find that Hayman Reece at least in Vic were advertising a lot,probably to capitalise on the caravan boom of the era.
