Etna Maroon is a beautiful colour, one of only a handful of metallic colours offered on the FE.  As an aside, Etna Maroon was an FE colour, and not an FC one.  It was only ever paired with Castle Grey, Sky Grey or with Cascade White.  This is only relevant if originality is important - it's your car and you should paint it whatever colour you like.

Here is a picture of John Wanner's FE Wagon which is predominantly Etna Maroon.

cheers

Thanks for the picture ret. etna maroon is not quite what im looking for i thought it was a bit darker than that..I think the colour trev is talking about is dominion maroon that is the colour im looking for but  nobody has the formula for it anymore i have tried a few paint shops. I dident have any trouble getting the india ivory mixed, strange how the maroon is not available.

Hi.
If you are not that fussed about the originality of the colour, go to you local shopping centre & have a look at some cars there. That is what I did when I wanted to pick a colour for my Monaro. I chose a Gunmetal metallic for the majority of the body, with a very dark Black/Red as the highlight stripes & engine bay (Painted in 2K).
All you have to do, is find the colour you like & identify the cars make, model & year. Then the paint shops can do the rest. Mine were both Honda colours.
Beautiful!

Hi Rod,
Have you had a look at Emporess Maroon.
If you are interested i can email you a pic of my old FC Wagon after it was repainted.
We used a Ford colour and tinted it to match the colour on the inside of the doors which was still in good nick. Wink

On reflection (Roll Eyes) that pic I posted before probably doesn't do Etna Maroon justice.  It's a gorgeous blood-red maroon, actually much darker than that previous pic might have suggested.  Here are a couple of other pics of the same car taken at different times during the same event (8th Nats in Sydney).  As you can see, in varying light it looks quite different.

cheers

And another angle, with some of the car out of direct sunlight.

Thanks for the feedback guys "Problem solved" I took one of my original wheels, which is painted dominion maroon down to the paint mob. and they matched  it beautifully so I got three litres, two for the car and one for spare...

cheers Rod.
