I am manufacturing heavy-duty brakedrums, like the ones made by Repco for taxi's and utes.
They will suit FE FC FB and EK.
These finned drums are expected late July. Contact me if you have any queries, on this site, or at [02] 47313966 Steven.

Hi Steven,
Would be really good to see these redone. Do you have indicative costs?
Cheers,
Craig.

I finally have some information for all those interested in the heavy-duty brake drums. They are being made of truck & bus grade iron.
The pattern maker has lots of work at the moment and to keep down costs has put my job to the bottom of his list. This week he will finish the pattern, and send it to the foundry where the drums will be cast.
As I am not personally making the drums, I have to rely on the times given to me by others. I too am anxious to get a set of these onto my own car.
As always, I can be contacted on (02) 47313966 Steve.

Arn't the FB/EK drums wider than the FE/FC drums? I know u can swap front & rear drums on the FE/FC but not on the FB/EK.

You're right Seb, FB-EK drums are wider than FE-FC. Hey Daydreamer, Have you thought of making brake drums up to HR? The diameter is the same and all you'd have to do is machine the width of the drum to suit the various models. Just a thought Regards ACE

Just to bring this subject up to date, Daydreamer (Steve) has contacted me, the drums are ready for testing and he is looking for a guinea pig.
He needs an FE or FC who's owner would be willing to wear these repro prototype front brake drums around for a couple of weeks.
This is in order to test them, he asked me but my car dosen't get out much & besides that I have an original pair.
So if you are in the Sydney or Penrith area & you have an original front end & you use the car daily, Steve would like to hear from you.
Please direct all calls to Steve Field 02 47313966
PS Steve tells me that these drums have not as yet been balanced if indeed they require balancing.
Regards Gary

tests have proven that the final words before a fatal urban car crash are "OH ****"
in a rural car crash they are " Hold my stubby and watch this for skill!"

Darcy, I don't think these will fit FB-EK as they have wider shoes.
They are copies of REPCO heavy duty / racing brake drums to fit FE-FC models, as shown at last nights Guildford club meeting.
As of a few days ago Steve is still looking for someone to trial a pair on their car.
Cheers, Gary

Hi Gary. If he wants to post a set down here to Tassie, I will bung em on my wagon. It is a daily driver & gets a good workout. I am keen on a pair anyway, as am about too purchase a 40's caravan. Need the extra stopping power.
Regards, Rob J

Hi Brett, Welcome to the illustrious ranks of the almighty "Guru"! They are big boots to fill my friend Seriously though. I do use the wagon everyday, but I look after it very, very well. Only 5 minutes drive to work each day. I have been adding bits & pieces over the last month or so & now have it looking & going very sweet. Scratch plates, Genuine venetians, Fiesta wheeltrims (The real FE FC FB type!), a set of NOS bottom door kick plates (Believe it or not, I came across another 2 NOS sets recently!). I actually went to the local "Tip Shop" today, hoping to find some of those suitcases you have! No luck, but I did find a perfect Nasco Coolaride seat cushion. Same colour as my interior! $10 Stoked I will post some shots of the caravan very soon (Not the one I went to look at, but another one I found. 1947 hand built). This thing is amazing!! Sorry for the thread Hi-jack. I will give him a buzz, Gary. Thanks, Rob J
