Argggghhhh!!!!! FE Grille resto

Well, as the subject would suggest I have hit a snag whilst assembling my newly chromed and powdercoated grille parts. In my infinite wisdom, I reused the old screws, as I was tightening one of the screws holding one of the bars (Holds the horizontals in place) it popped!
Now I have part of the screw left in the bar!

Any suggestions on how to remove the offending thread?

I would try using a small ezyout, don’t know if you have used them before but what you do is carefully find the centre of the offending thread and with a small drill bit drill through to the end of the thread next is to hit in the ezyout until it recess it self and locks on internally then its a mater of just (with a small shifter or a tee key) undoing and hope the threaded end of the screw comes out.
Super cheap do sell a small kit of 4 ezyouts and are quite cheap.

      Not trying to tell you how to suck eggs, but here is my 2 cents worth and hope its of use.
     Get a set of ezyout or stud removes as Steve has said. The ones you wont to use are; once you have drilled the hole you then screw the ezyout into the stud,bolt as its a left hand thread it will (normally) unscrew the broken stud,bolt,as you are screwing it in. Remember these are left hand thread. After 20 odd years in engineering one word of advice when useing ezyouts Slowly Does It, if it get real tight stop drill, the brocken bolt out completely and re-tap the thread. The last thing you want is to be removing a brocken ezyout,(this is not fun at all).

Thanks for the tips, I've buggered it up though. Took it into a machine shop (see Parts Wanted - Tasman Caps) today to see if they can salvage it for me. Other wise I'll replace it with one a spare and paint it gold for a pimpin' smiley grille

a long shot....

cant u weld a bit of metal  (eg thick piece of welding rod) to the snapped bolt and wind it out?

to prevent your self welding to the grille, smear some nozzle spatter guard on the metal surrounding the offending bolt to be welded.

A MIG can probably do this without putting too much heat under the chrome
