Cast iron is good after market, alloy is stock.I tried to measure the pump on our VT Calais but couldn't get to it from all the crap, but,I noticed the oil filter is smaller in diameter. The old filters stick out about 15 mm from the edge of the sealing face on the pump all they way around, the new type are nearly flush with the sealing face.Just by fitting one of these new filters you could save about 10,15 mm, providing they fit on OK.Might be worth buying one and trying it.Only about $7.00 at supercheap autos. Cheers Tony
