Guys please help me!!!

Ive got an FC wagon that might as well not have a f*@king roof on it she leaks that much.

Through the tops of the doors i can handle cause i know most of that is just the seals that need replacing, but water is pissing in from under the dash on the drivers side. Its not just a trickle is like a little spa for my feet! and for the life of me cant find where its coming from. ive run the hose over it a few times and tried to track it but still cant figure it out.

And the other that is just as bad is the leaking from the roof at the vack of the wagon- just before the back door. but its not coming in from the hindges or anything, its like its coming from the front of the car and pouring into the back cause that is the angle its on

Has any1 got an idea if there is supposed to be a drainage hose or something in the roof that wasnt connected up or if there is some secret to discovering the sourse of the free flowing waterfall i have at my feet when it rains

Im desperate for any ideas!!! Cry

Thanks all

Ken McLean gave an answer to the wet feet problem once before - its most likely the bolt that holds the top of the guard to the body. If you grab a torch and look up past the top of the drivers side kick panel you should see the head of a 3/8 bolt. If it is missing that is the problem. If it has been pulled out and not sealed upon replacement then thats it.

If not, welcome to the world of car cancer  Cry

Cheers,

Craig.

Also check that the drain hole for the planum chamber front vent handle thingy has a drainage pipe fitted to it as it can slop back into the car as it did on my FC Wagon initially.

In our NSW April 04 issue of "Sideplate" I did a little article on this problem.
Basically, as well as doors, windscreen, radio arial and centre vent, there are 8 holes through the firewall that are used to fix the inner dash insulation.  2 of these holes (1 in each wheel well/guard area) let in 'heaps' of water, and must be resealed if you want to keep dry.  Check under the guards, and you will most likely see a rusty looking hole just below the front frame mounting bolts (about level with your toe, on the brake).  If it has a metal projection, the fixing is still in place, but the caulking has fallen off; if you see a blob of calking, it may not leak.  Seal these up, and most of the water problems will be fixed.

Thumper,

Get a set of those fancy fishing dacks - you know, the rubber ones that have the boots built in to them.  Yer'll never have to worry about getting wet then.
