Secret Stash of FC wrecks

I went for a bit of a drive to a location that will be kept secret at the owners request...Should you know of the location or the owners of these cars then keep it to yourelf as you will have more than myself to deal with....  
I was invited to this property by the owners  when they saw me at a swap meet recently in my FC Ute...The parts and cars have been collected for over twenty years and they have a enormous collection they are very protective of...Some of the cars become paddock bashers  the pics show but most are being saved and from time to time they do sell/swap parts and cars...

By all means keep your word and leave the location a secret, but..........
Do try to convince the owner he's not helping preserve our fantastic cars by collecting then leaving them to rot or by paddock bashing them out of existence. Unless he purchased them already bashed about he's destroyed quite a bit of Holden histrory there.
If he's a country guy (that's been around a while), I know it'll be nearly impossible but see if you can encourage him to start selling stuff.

Gday LIEGH;
The owner is a very keen Holden enthusiast and has /is saving quite a few.. He's not impossible to deal with and does sell stuff but the limited shed space means they have mostly got to be stored outdoors... The really rusty ones he pretty much aquirred as rusty ones ... Dont panic they are in reletavly safe hands... The HD paddock basher was a car sideswiped and given to them... Rather than just scrapping it and his other padddock bashers,  they get the most value out of them b4 they die... I suppose that having fun is what its all about and a lot of people are guilty of paddock bashing Holdens... They never wreck good cars ....The photos of them driving them into town are just unbelievable ... of course these are old shots, as you would not dream of doing this today.... Cheers streetneat

Nice pics Streetneat.  If it wasn't for blokes like that with enough room to keep them on farms and in sheds, they would all be crushed and reincarnated as hyundais by now

At least he sounds sensible enough to realise he can't rebuild 'em all & doesn't mind selling the odd one or two.

With regards to the hearse, i think that company still makes ambulance bodies etc for new cars (like the stretch commodore utes)

I have a full set of photos of all the FE's and FC's in this yard plus all the ID plate numbers as well, with thanks from a Vic club member who lives up north.
There were about 12 or 13 FE and FC when he saw them, looks like there may be a few less now.
The body plate on the hearse reads
"Body conversion by H Curtis - Jancuvovic"
Not sure about the last word because the plate has a bit of corrosion on it.

I also know of a stash of old holdens and early fords, vals,etc, but unsure if i should say incase it is the same property that you are talking about,but if it is a different paddock it is a shame to see them go to waste and would love to tell you where it is.
Get back to me and i can tell you of this location.

This particular property pretty much has only old Holdens ...mostly FE /FC with a few FB/EK's thrown in... I would not say these cars were going to waste really They are a still giving up parts ..... The cars are far better here than at a wreckers where they would have a limited  stay ....I think I know of the farm that you are speaking of and its not this one..... There is a car farm at Casino NSW  that has a pretty good range of wrecks ....But These car farms are under threat from crushers and yuppies that think they are spoilin the nice country views... The nieghbor of this particular farm wants to see the cars gone and when you see how far away these cars are from the nearest house , it leaves you stunned that some one could have binoculars that powerful...check the pics and see if you can detect the house... Council has come and inspected and declared the cars are not a problem.....Cheers streetneat.

The body builders plate DOES read TAMWORTH as the last word.... I checked it out personally myself and asked others with me what they thought it read..decision on tamworth was unaminious... Then the owner told me later the hearse came from Tamworth..... Should have asked him first....... DOH!.... streetneat

Hey there streetneat.

If you think that the property i know of is not the one then i will tell you of its location.

Maybe this guy is willing to let a few of his go so they can be restored instead of sitting there rotting away.

It is in between a town called Singleton and a little town called Wollombi, in the Hunter Valley, NSW.

Heading from Singleton, you head out towards Mt Thorley turning off to the left about 4 or 5 klm out.

Head towards Broke. Pass through Broke and keep heading straight for agout 20 - 30 mins.

As u come around a big sweeping bend u will see them lined up the paddock on the left hand side.

There must be at least 20 old holdens, just sitting there.

Hope this helps someone in finding their next project.
It is also a very nice ride/drive out to Wollombi for the landscape and make sure u stop off at Wollombi Tavern for a Jungle Juice.

You can also access this property from heading out from Cessnock.

Thanks there blown red...I would love to part company with the info on the where abouts of the location of this secret stash of FC's... However if I promise the owners  I will keep that promise... Funnily enough the owners told me of the same location you have just mentioned!... I seem to remember that they said something about one or more of their cars coming from that very location.... Their cars may seem to be going to waste in the paddocks but parts are taken and used as well as some cars are sold... they invited me there with the veiw of taking some cars ! However after surveying the goat track I would have to follow and the state of the cars I don't feel its worth the bloody long drive or massive amounts of trouble for such dismal rewards... I too have a collection of cars like this and whilst its not as large its a shame I cant fix 'em all....My methods involve cutting the cars up and storing the parts ... I only do this to the rustiest of cars  ... otherwise they would have to be dumped....Nothing is wasted.... Cheers streetneat

Hey Streetneat.
With regards to the FC Hearse. I would like to know why the car is referred to as a hearse and not just a wagon with a tailgate conversion. Are there any other interesting parts on the car, or is some history known about this car? Just wondering, as it could also have been an Ambulance, Morgue vehicle, etc, or just an interesting conversion. Any ideas? Plate details?

The car was bought from an undertaker  from what I have been told and its history is known. I will endeavour to get a piccy of the plate next time I'm there. The original colour was black which is also a give away.... I see your point though, about it could have been just a interesting body conversion. I suppose the main known use of the vehicle makes it a hearse...Its a bit like refering to a Ute with racks as a builders truck... At the end of the day its still a Ute.... Cheers streetneat

The story I got was that it was a child's hearse, hence not being a long wheel base vehicle.
Interestingly the original colour is India Ivory, not black.
In one of the photos I have, the rear side window and rubber is gone and the paint in the window opening is definately white.
Possibly the car was white as a sign of a child's purity ?

The guy who supplied all the photos to me was going to buy the wagon because of its rarity, but in the end decided it was just too far gone.  Sad.

Once again Ken you are right.... It has been sold but not picked up and I dont think its likely to be picked up ... The number of cars I was given a story on that day makes it hard to remember all the info I was given... You are of course right about the colour and I seem to think it may have been a two tone wagan hence the black and white... However I would have to confirm this next time I visit there...The wagon did not sell for very much, but it did not seem to be too far gone from what I saw of it... Maybe the tailgate is worth saving and fitting to another vehicle... Unfortunatly the owners are not on the internet..... yet... So I told them about this site and they are very keen to join up and share some experiences and info.... However I would not hold my breath as it takes a whilst to master computers....A childs hearse seems to be the info I was given as well  but I will confirm this next time... My wife was with at the time and she cant remember what we were told either... I will take notes next time... cheers streetneat
