Here are the much anticipated pictures of this weekends Gnoo Blas run. We all travelled up to Orange, not only to take part in this event, but to see Norm Dawe's ex-racer FC standard. It was just fantastic to see and hear, and for a lucky some, (me included  Grin ) drive the car. Although it suffered some front end wobbles at speed it was still a memorable experience. And the smile and Norm and his daughters faces made the whole trip worthwhile.

Here are the photos I took yesterday and today, and I'm sure more will be posted over the next couple of days. RET even took some video of the car which I hope you all get to see soon.

Thanks a million Norm.

Cheers,

Craig.

With an FJ racer. The video RET shot shows Norms car and an FJ "racing" around the Gnoo Blas circuit, followed by the Poo Mobile camera car. Must have opened a few eyes on what are now public roads!!!

Here's a shot I took while following Norm's car with his daughter driving. Look closely and you will notice the "P" plate!!

Craig,
Thank You,   for having me there , and a Thank You to all the members who made us feel so Welcome , and YES , Ashlea and I did have a "ball"  she's still on a "high".  Grin.    I was only too happy to let you have a drive out on the road , and I'm looking forward to RET's video of Ashlea's "Dice" with the FJ , the "old guy" in the FJ was having a ball too , he must have been in his 70's.

Trev
Yep mate , it was a "Blast from the Past"  Cheesy .

Some shots here of the FE/FC display.  12 cars in total.

  Norm & Ashlea  Smiley

PS . Mate , wish the "road permit" would have covered Bathurst too  Cool

Id like to second that Norms gesture was awesome, I also got to have a squirt around the old track and i dont mind saying that i realy hit the gas pedal , upon return i got out of the Cool car expecting Norm to be a little concerned but as usual he just smiled and said "Man youve got guts"
This was an absolute highlight of my life. I mean where or when would you ever get the chance to drive an original old race car around a now non functional old race track out west.   "Never"   Norm may be the only bloke i ever know with a kind enough nature to watch someone  giving his car heaps and actualy enjoy it

Cheers buddie I owe you a beer

Looks like everybody had a real good time. Now thats what Old Holdens are all about. Great photos and I am looking forward to maybe seeing the video some time. I bet its been a while since Bathurst has seen a starting line up like that.
Norm
Great to see you got the car back on the track (road). Also great to see that the passion for Racing and the car are coming though in your Daughter, for this you must be proud. Hope to see the car in action personally one day soon.

I hope to download the video into the laptop tonight, and I'll do my best to get a bit of it up and available this week.  I've had a quick squiz at the raw footage, but given that it was taken from the back seat of Harko's Commodore and the PooMobile, some of it is a little shaky Grin

I'll extract the best bits and get them up ASAP.  I've also got some more photos which I'll add to this thread tomorrow.

cheers
