Hi Mick,

I went to see a guy (Vinnie) about a week ago who had just purchased a really good hoist for around $280.00. He got it from a tool shop in Parramatta. Maybe he could fill us in more next time he visits the forum.

For your sake I hope someone else has one for loan, but if not could you PLEASE buy one so we could all loan it off you  Wink

Good on ya. Grin Gees your a good bloke!!

Craig.

Mick,

Where abouts are you?

I've got a 2 ton engine crane but unless your within about 15 - 30 mins from Dural, it may be more trouble than its worth.  I bought one because the hire place was too far and also I didnt have a car or trailer to lug one about.  Plus my engine has been in and out more times than I care to remember.

Kennards also hires them at a reasonable rate. Just make sure everything is ready but the time u hire.

May be worth your while to get some good strong chain.  An old swing set and a block and tackle.  I helped a mate pull a motor out once by hanging it off a big tree branch.

Cheers

Ed

Oh.. Hare and Forbes in Parra stocks these cranes.

so do Vijays power tools at Mascot, or load of other places, worth their weight in Gold.

another tip.. make sure you get one with a good quality serviceable hydraulic ram, as they have a tendency to shit themselves if not stored properly.  Costs around 100 bucks to overhaul a ram.

just re-read ur post too, 3 months loan is too much for me.. sorry my crane gets mucho use.

Mick,

Definitely recommend buying one.  It would cost you way more to keep Craig and Alf fed for three months Grin

cheers

Good news that you bought one Mick.

Can I borrow it for a few months? Those scabby bastards in the FE FC Club wouldn't buy one so I'll have to use yours.

Thanks a million.
