I'm having trouble tracking down information on a clock that is mounted on the ashtray lid. Any takers?? Is this a known accessory?

Leigh, A clock is definitely not a NASCO accessory for a FE/FC but may have been a period accessory of the time. It is funny that you mention it went on top of the ashtray lid as 2 ashtrays I have picked up over the years have holes in them and I was wondering what item would possibly be placed there. Anyway if you did find out more about it I would be interested as an extra accessory is always something good to incorporate as long as it is a period item.

I have never seen an ashtray mounted clock.  There is certainly no NASCO clock for FE/FC but there was a Smiths clock.  This was mounted above the rear view mirror using the mirror bracket screws.  I have seen ashtrays with 2 holes in them - this was where people sometimes attached the NASCO ornamental jewel. Would be interested in seeing information about an ashtray mounted clock.   Ken McLean
