Hi all,
I have an FC Holden which is my everyday car and the engine has pretty much had it and its undrivable. It was last reconditioned 4 years ago and it has lost compression, the cam is worn at the harmonic balancer and it now has a bottom end noise banging the side of the engine. My mechanic says it is no longer worth reconditioning and i desparately need another engine.
I would prefer a reconditioned one, but i know these engines are hard to come by so anything may help!!! If anyone has anything please let me know?

Gavin,
Sorry to hear of your troubles. If you could post reply and let us know what part of the country you are in it would be appreciated. It's very expensive to ship a grey motor anywhere, so you want to find one as close to home as possible.

Im in Sydney and have a complete Running engine , recently pulled from an Fe , Its complete with Carby, Distributor , Starter motor, water pump, fuel pump (not vacumn), only major part missing is Generator (ALF). I want $175 for it and its ready for pickup already out of the vehicle. Cheers Slim 0402465768.

GEM engine reconditioners (Sydney and rest of SE seaboard) sell recon greys for about $1400 last time I checked, 12months 20000K warranty and they had them in stock in Sydney.

Thanks for the replies so far.
Totaly forgot to mention i'm in Victoria, Melbourne area. Guess if things are hard to come by and i have to get something from interstate then thats what i gotta do if i wanna keep my car on the road.

Now , Now mate . I thought I had explained the reason I wont send stuff overseas... Its a bloody hassle, The First and last bloke I dealt with in NZ seemed like a great guy, But it was a Bloody drama that went on for about 2 months.. I dont mean to tar everyone with the same brush but Hey , once bitten twice shy ... And PS Im pretty rite for parts THANKS.
