Hi, Can anyone tell me how many fc fe or any old holdens are actually on the road compared to the number made. In an article I read, they suggested that there are 1000 fj's on the road out of 170000 made. I would be interested in any info on any model.
thanks for your help :-/

Lisa,
I would think that of the 300000 odd FE FC  Holdens made between 1956 and 1959 there would be easily 2000 in existence not all running but still loved and admired. The model was the most popular car on the road for that 4 year period with close to every 2nd car a FE or FC holden in other words a 50% market share.
Hope this is of some help.

Hi Lisa there were 155,161 fe holdens made between july 56 to may 58 & 191,724 fc holdens may 58 to jan 60.Now almost 50 years on you would think there would be at lease 85,000 of them around.lve got three of them that makes 84,997 sill out there, there wasnt many exported in the 50S, from alfio THE LOVE'''''''GOD

This question has been posed a number of times and it is difficult to come up with an answer.  The vic club has about 100 members most with at least one car, some with more.  But "ON THE ROAD" is a whole nuther matter.  I would estimate the vic club with about 75 cars on the road and probably a similar number in NSW.
There are always lots more people in Vic and NSW who are not in clubs. At least as many again.
That makes about 300 cars and add to that another 300 for the rest of Australia and I think this would be a good starting place for a first off calculation.
Comments please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does the Transport/Registration Department in any state make such information available?

In Qld they will do limited searches for a fee, but if somebody 'knew someone' in the department, info is usually more forthcoming.  I don't know how you would go getting a search on FE/FC Holden or Holdens currently registered with build dates between 1956 & 1959.
