I’ve been doing the body work for a couple of months - car at some stage was taken back to bare metal ( no red oxide primer anywhere).
The car is reasonably straight and I’ve spent a fair amount of time on the tailgate fitment and headlight surrounds. The front guards were FE - so all the indicator holes needed filling and FC holes added. Inside the back of the Ute was a bugger of a job - 60+ years of things being thrown in the back and that black tar substance used in the factory took a lot of time to get respectable.
Plan is to have a go at painting it myself - stay tuned 🤪

Hi Wasim,

You are doing some great work there and doing the refurb the right way. I am a fair ways behind you with my ute and have less rust to deal with but there is still a mountain of work to do. I'll be looking to your project for inspiration as mine starts to drag on no doubt. I look forward to watching your ute progress to completion.

Cheers

Here are some pictures of my Ute I’m in the process of refreshing.

Cheers, Wasim

It’s been awhile since I last posted - but I have been busy. The Ute is basically finished in as much as what I can do. I did all the body work myself and the car goes off to paint in about 4 weeks. I just have to get the exhaust finished first.
I’m pleased with the “gaps” - a lot of patience and finessing. I made the door cards out of marine ply - the dense cardboard cards aren’t as strong!
All the chrome and stainless is ready to go as is the interior. So hopefully we’re back on the road before the end of the year.
Cheers, Wasim

Looks amazing!! Can't wait to see it in colour!

I wish mine was as far along as yours, I can really appreciate how much work it is to get to the point you're at. Cool

Great work Wasim! Hard to appreciate the effort if you haven’t done it once or twice or….several times!
You’ll have to take on another project shortly 😊
