Hi Fellow members !  I know it’s not fc fe related exactly but I thought someone might be able to help.
Am away for a few days up at Lauriton caravanning and stoped today to look at a Winton red eh sedan in the Main Street  ( had a Winton red wagon years ago) l meet the owner Elaine a delightful woman of advanced years  it was her mother’s from new and she inherited it when she passed. It’s wearing a few battle scars but overall not bad. I noticed some badges missing and she told me she drove to church in Port Macquarie a while back and while parked at church somebody stole the 179 badge, the Holden lettering across the boot and the hydra matic boot badge. Some locals have come to rescue giving her a 179:badge Holden lettering across the boot ( the H is from a HD I think as is bigger than the rest) but she still missing the hydra matic badge told her I would try and get one ! so if someone has one tucked away I am happy to purchase for her and fit it to her car when I come up next.
Cheers Snoop
Will try and post picture of her car.

There are some low blowies about Vern , it’s a reminder that this could happen to any of us.
Think Elaine was just as upset with humanity as she was with the loss of her badges.

Thanks Harv, had a look at the badges on offer I agree  they are up there in price,  won’t be going back up the coast for five or six weeks so hopefully something more affordable comes up in the meantime.
Cheers Peter.

If you end up having to pay the $100, let me know and I'll go you halves.

Paying forward a little karma might restore Elaine's faith in humanity. I know enough people have helped me similarly.

Thanks Vern and Harv that’s sensational I’ll start scouring in earnest, if you see anything please let me know. I did look today and there was a nice ej badge but they are a little different from the eh badge. I’ve have tried to post some pictures of her car from my phone using Tapatalk ( not very easy). They are awful pics lens was dirty on my phone.

Hi Guys thank you for all the input so far. I found one ( it’s a eh badge Vern bit different from ej) got one of my sons to order using his PayPal ac  ( the site was an unusual one) looks like it was in an antique shop with little sale tag attached hope it’s not a scam ! Anyway looks in good nick it was reduced from  around $48 down to $23 American dollars my son said it’s all up around $43 American dollars inc shipping. So hopefully My son will get tracking details etc soon. Will keep you posted. Will try and post pic of ad using tape talk ( don’t hold your breath)
Cheers Peter.

Hi All another update on the stolen hydra matic badge !  It finally arrived in the post today have  given it a polish tonight and it’s come up ok.
I rang Elaine on a few  occasions over the past week and she wasn’t answering her landline so a bit worried I rang the Laurieton police.
She returned my call after the police contacted her.
Long story short she had an intruder in her house a few weeks back and now she doesn’t feel safe in her own house. The police have organised some temp accommodation for her for a while.
Anyway she was thrilled that the badge was on its way and when I told her that some Holden club members wanted to help she was taken aback,  the good news although on the face of it, only small, was some tonic that hopefully will be the catalyst for a change of fortune for Elaine.
I’m heading back up the coast
in a few weeks and will stop by and fit the badge.
