HI.

I'm replacing my front door hinge springs, but not sure if I put 2 springs on the top hinge and nothing on the bottom hinge.....OR.......do I put 1 spring on top and 1 on bottom hinge ?

Two springs on the top hinges.

The remains of the the old rivets fitted at factory should be evident on top hinge to guide you to correct positioning...
