The winning bid was $122.00

Sounds like a lot to me.  What would a good second hand one with the silver end intact be worth? (if you could find one)?

Slim,
I see you bid to $38, I bid to $36.  These figures are about what I'd have expected to pay.  I guess if you want good NOS in the box bad enough!

Shayne.

It is the saying goes, "It all depends what someone is willing to pay for it". I was watching that auction & if it went for about $60, I would have grabbed it. If I wanted one for one of my cars, $120-$150 would not have bothered me. If I want it, I will bid hard & get it. Easy.
Just consider, these were made 45 years ago, they break on the cars (so are disappearing at a reasonable rate), you will find it very hard to get one at a wreckers, or by posting an ad on this forum (ask Slim), they do not reproduce them & there is an extremely limited stock of new items.
$122? Bargain!!

Rob,

Don't know about a bargain, but you've made me feel a bit better!

Regards

Edward
