Hi All, I am in the final stages of re-assembling my grey motor and have been unable to find any specification regarding how far the harmonic balancer needs to be pressed onto the crank. I have the original type balancer and assume its' final resting position is with the end of the balancer thread inline with the front of the crank. My question is, is there a specific specification or is near enough good enough? Thanks Doug

Doug,

"All the way . . . "

Drive the harmonic balancer on until the end of the hub buts up against the oil slinger and crankshaft gear.  You'll notice a distinct change in tone of the hammer blows when the balancer is "home".

I was only one more tap with the hammer away from the balancer being fully home. All pulleys line up. Doug
