Hi everyone!
I'm having a trouble to putting back the bonnet emblem. I can't see how can be done keeping the plastic insert in the right spot and the same time put the holding bolts through the bonnet holes? Even with a helping hand looks extremely hard. Any advice appreciated.

There are 2 clips that hold the plastic emblem in place on the back of the metal piece from memory.

I am pretty sure you are missing the two threaded rods that screw into the threaded holes on either side of the emblem. Once they are in place the retaining plates (shown in your picture) are placed over them and secured with nuts, this holds the emblem in place. The threaded rods need to be long enough to protrude through the bonnet in order to secure the assembly to the bonnet using two additional nuts. Hope this makes sense. Regards Doug

G'day Mark !
I did measure it, I'm using 15 mm stainless steel 1/4" Philips head bolt. I think the thread in the hole is 20 mm. I don't know the measurements for the original bolt In the second hole at the back of the ornament if I'm right you can use maximum 15 mm bolt. Otherwise lots of washers.....

Thanks Laszlo. I think you must mean 15cm for the front bolt.?? I thought from memory of the ones that were lost by the platers it was about 4 inches - 10cm long, to go through the panel in front of the bonnet catch spring/bolt. I have bought some stainless 1/4inch bolts but still working on marking out where to drill the holes. I have the plan from on here, just measuring a few times before taking the plunge and drilling. cheers, Mike.

Ok, an other puzzle solved. Anyway I used only 15mm ( not cm) 1/4" stainless steel Philips head srew at the front. And a skinny screwdriver what I put through the hole was already there and a bit of juggling (a couple minutes) and the bird was perfectly secured. If you do it Mike's way you are saving a few minutes fun to finding the head of the srew with the screwdriver.😁 So how I done it the srew just vent through one layer of metal, the top of the bonnet. (I hope I didn't over explain myself ....)
