Does anyone know what the small plate is for on the front corner on some Grey motor exhaust manifolds and which model did they come out on..the plate is bolted on and wraps around the front of manifold

It’s a heat shield. FXFJ standard fitting. I think the 6v generator was larger than the 12 v one and suffered from overheating.
