Today I made and fitted the subframe connectors. My version is welded into V of the subframe legs and bolted to the floor cross member A fair bit of messing around went into these Just have to add the crush tubes for the bolts and finish dressing up the welds when I take the subframe off Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well they look the horn to paraphrase Pete and dud. But can you get any lock without the tyre ripping the guard lip out?

Gets full lock both ways without rubbing but will still fold the guard lip up

The issue I’ve had is only where the inside wheel rides up over a bump on lock, but rolling the guard helps of course. Then it only rubs and doesn’t rip the lip outward. Sometimes a modicum of driveability gets sacrificed for a vast improvement in appearance.

I'm going to roll the guard lip with a 8mm rod welded into the lip. I did this on my FB so even if the tyres do hit the guard its like you say, it only rubs and doesn't tear. And it make the edge nice and rigid.

Mal, Great build your up to there! Curious about the Mustang tank, obviously it's deeper, but any idea how close it is to the original hole in the floor, (assuming you had a floor left) Cheers, Gary

Hey Gary, All my floor is cut out and gone but it will definitely fit between standard rails with some trimming, as my new chassis is about 100mm narrower than standard and this tank fits perfectly between my new rails. I put a XB falcon tank in my FB which also fitted between the standard rails but of course had to be trimmed. Mal

Well done Mal looking good. Gary, a few others have used the Mustang tanks, they will take up most of the boot so you would loose the spare wheel well in the sedan. They come in 3 sizes, 18 US gallons —-14.98 imp 20 “ “ 16.6 “ 22 “ “ 18.3 “
