Fifty-five quid for an entry-level gas stove?  A new Holden short motor was sixty-three quid.  Considering what it costs to get a Holden engine reconditioned today, a basic stove in 1958 costs about $3000 . . .

And by the same token, a new TV was half a Holden.  That'd make it about $20000.

Remember: if your Holden's not leaking oil, it doesn't have any.
