Hi guys, names adam, new member to the forum but have looked up info here in the past, have been playing around with old holdens (mostly fe-fc and hk-t-g)since i was a teenager (37  now) i work for an engine builder in the albury/wodonga area and have a soft spot for hot greys will post some photos up of my toys, i have a 59-1/2 fc special which is going for its second rwc test tomorrow, and we managed to squeeze 130rwhp out of the old fc L block, it is pretty cranky and piggy to drive but wouldnt have it any other  way
Also have an fe panel van that was my paddock basher as a kid, just lucky i never wrecked it, its fitted with a 383 sbc and commodore 6spd but still going through th conversion process

Very nice and stock looking. I bet a different impression comes across when you turn the key.

Sure does, with a 2-1/2" exhaust and pretty big cam, a crow regrind, marty put a humpy holden speedway gring on it,
Its actually an old repco sports engine +.060 so .185" oversize from standard fc block, still running the repco pistons,
We took .030 of the block to zero deck it then about .080" off the head i ported out to get the comp upto 9.5:1,
186 valves
Double race springs to suit a series 1 v6 commodore

Had to make up custom pushrods to suit using 265 hemi pushrods with the grey pushrod tip machined down and inserted then silver soldered, slant 6 full flow oil fiter setup drilled and tapped into the block, made 130rwhp at about 6000rpm but was starting to pull vaccum so triples should see more power

So effectively a 138 plus 60 thou, for 149cui. Hi comp. Good breathing. Not so powerful to stress bottom end and drive train. Bit of an adventure to drive. Sounds like a good way to go. You’re not lazy like me and put in a red motor.
Cheers
Clay

Next time i put it on the dyno at work i'll get a vid, and yeah worked out to 149ci with the 3.185"-3-3/16 bore, took about 7kg out of the flywheel to, would be heaps better with a four speed but i kind of like the column shift nostalgia, my fe van on the other hand should be a weapon with the alloy headed 383, tr6060 6spd and torana front end

Yes yhe old nostalgia box should stand up to it if you don’t hammer it. You only need syncro in city driving. So I keep telling myself as I don’t want to cut the floor in mine.

Hi guys, hopefully this works, was the first dyno run of the fc from a couple months ago before we tweeked the timing and carbs a lil further, only revving to 6000rpm should be good to 7000rpm but going to wait till it loosens up a bit to rev it that hard
