Let me know what you find if you will Jim .I was interested in this years ago 'cause someone from a club I was in was doing them ,but I lost interest when I found the difficulty was the collapsibility . I have an old Mazda 626 [imported diesel ] with a power steering rack and V-belt pump that I have kept because I think I can make the rack fit without cutting it . Just saying this sort of thing might be an option also .

Not sure which column he used though

There is a good write up on this conversion on the Torana Forum, but you will need to be a member to see the photos.
Although on a Torana column, the details would be applicable to most Holden columns.
